DESIGN ENGINEERING MANAGER - DUNEDIN

Global premium brand with head office based in Auckland are looking to attract an experienced and effective leader responsible for the high performance of the Product Development Team within their Product Development Division based at their Dunedin facility.

The main purpose of the role is to develop a deep knowledge in your area of expertise and to put the customer at the centre of everything you do. You will work with the team to provide vision and leadership aligned with the company's strategic goals.
You will enjoy leading, coaching and developing your team to enable high performance and you will be able to grow and manage technical knowledge of the functional area for future use within the company. Working with the Chief Engineer, you will ensure that product delivery goals are met and design for quality methodology is followed. The role calls for an experienced leader with an in-depth, cross-functional understanding of business challenges, who has a proven passion for developing others and delivering to customer expectations. Naturally curious, you embrace challenges as opportunities, take a proactive stance on identifying the need for change and bring others with you as you maintain your focus on desired outcomes. You will be adept at bringing the right people together to collaborate, debate and address business issues.
Skills and experience
Understanding of design/engineering principles, systems and processes
Relevant Engineering/Science tertiary qualification
